Indeed, most people will be notified of whether or not they have been approved for a concealed weapon permit in what really does amount to a short period of time.

Provided that you do not do anything that is in violation of the terms and conditions associated with your concealed weapon permit, you will be able to be a concealed weapon permit holder indefinitely. You likely will have to pay an annual fee to renew your concealed weapon permit. But, again, provided that you abide by the terms and conditions of the concealed weapon permit itself, it will not be taken away from you. Indeed, most states are reporting that only a fraction of a fraction of those people who obtain concealed weapon permits ever have them revoked.
